Boston!

It has been a while since I last posted but now I have a little time to update. First of all I would just like to thank everyone of you for everything you did in helping with the wedding and for all of the gifts. I am sending out thank you cards but they might be a while in getting back to the west so I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, for everything we are blessed with the best family. I love you all so much.

So, let me tell you about our crazy adventures and our fun trip across the country. We left the reception, which was beautiful, thank you all for decorating, and went to Midway which is a little bit past Park City. For those of you who have never been to Midway I highly recommend it. I had no idea that this quaint little town even existed, I felt like we were in the Swiss Alps. All the houses looked like gingerbread houses and everything was powdered with snow. It was beautiful. We stayed in a little B&B which was also beautiful and so much fun and the food was delicious. We would wake up in the morning and have breakfast and then we would have high tea in the afternoon. I loved it.

On Tuesday we headed back to Salt lake to pick up our moving truck and head out. Essie and Stacy helped us load up the truck and we were on our way. I was the self designated GPS guide and snack hander-outer and over all Road Trip Boss (that is the official title). Jason played a minor role in driving the entire way to Boston so we will give him a little credit. I unfortunately packed my camera away so I have very few photos from our road trip but I did take some with my ipad.

I apologize for the poor quality of these photos but thats all I could get. This is Chicago.

In Illinois we stayed at the Coleman B&BLDx3 which stands for Bed and Breakfast, lunch and dinner and a packed lunch that will last you at least 3 days. There was a menu provided. It was the most amazing food I recommend that all of you visit this amazing B&BLD.

And so does Jason

We drove an average of 8 hours a day and stayed in some pretty fun hotels. I discovered what I now like to call the Tall man discount that you can get at almost any hotel if you call in advance. I would call the hotels in the area we were staying in and ask them for there best price for the evening, they would tell me and we would head over. Usually the best price was for a double or queen size bed. As soon as we arrived at the hotel I would send sweet Jason in and the concierge would ALWAYS say, "Woah, your really tall. I don't think you'll fit in our bed. Let me give you a king size bed for the same price." Who knew there was such a deal? One really nice concierge gave us the honeymoon suite which had a jacuzzi right in the bedroom and a deck out to the pool. Very cool. It helped that Jason was always very sweet and amiable to the concierge, if he had sent me in with my tired, disheveled state with a bad case of the road trip grumps I don't think they would have been so accommodating.

We made it to Pennsylvania by Saturday where we stayed so Jason could baptize a young girl he had taught on his mission. Her name is Victoria and she was investigating the church as a young girl when Jason was in the area. She wanted to get baptized but her mother wouldn't let her. She was 8 when Jason was teaching her and she has kept in touch all these years. Finally her mother relented and said that she could be baptized. She is now 15. She called Jason and asked if he would be able to baptize her and so we coordinated our trip to coincide. It was a beautiful baptism, the spirit filled the room. I even cried and I didn't even know her! You can just tell that she is a very special and spiritual young woman. They are sending Jason pictures but I don't have them yet so I'll post them later.

The last leg of our journey seemed to be the longest part. I was ready to jump out of the car. But we made it. we got into our apartment threw down the mattress in the living room and slept like we were never going to wake up. Unfortunately morning came quickly and we had a few of Jason's friends come and help us move in. I had promised to make them breakfast but then I realized what a difficult task that was going to be because we only had a griddle handy and no utensils anywhere in sight. Somehow breakfast was made and the organizing began.

Before

After

This is our temporary dining room table until we can go and get one.
Oh, And our dryer doesn't work so we have to go back to the clothespin days. I feel like I'm living in Costa Rica again only with snow.

Well, That's our lives so far. There are so many new things to experience here in Boston and I hope that you all want to come and visit us. I have plenty of room if you don't mind sleeping on a blow-up mattress. You might want to consider coming in the spring though as right now it is bitter cold. Love you all
